A Florida mother was arrested after she allegedly beat her daughter with a metal guitar because she was angry she had to wait 10 minutes outside her school while the girl chatted with boys. Sayda Orellana Castellanos, 52, stands accused of aggravated battery and child abuse with great bodily harm. Orellana Castellanos told the officer that she went to pick up her daughter at school but grew frustrated when she had to wait more than 10 minutes for the girl to come outside.
The mother later learned the girl had been talking to boys as she waited, the affidavit said. She and her daughter reportedly started arguing in the car as they drove home. Orellana Castellanos alleged that her daughter punched her in the face.
The mother then grabbed her daughter by the hair and dragged her out into the hallway while slapping in her face causing her to fall, cops wrote. She allegedly hit her multiple times, causing serious injuries to her face and body.
Then Orellana Castellanos started hitting her with a broomstick, breaking it in half, the affidavit said. The victim suffered several lacerations and scratches on both sides of her face, a bruised eyelid and marks on her back. She has a court hearing scheduled for March 5.
