To determine which courses you should take, you must complete the placement test if you are: 1 a degree- or certificate-seeking student or 2 registering for a course with any prerequisites. The untimed placement test is available in two forms. The main reasons you would want to take the Accuplacer instead of the self-placement is: 1 If you want a math class above college algebra, 2 A department is requiring it, or 3 You are unsure that the score you got in the self-placement test is correct.
