A multi-stakeholder group of approximately 20 participants from Fiji Bureau of Statistics, Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Health and Medical Services convened for the second capacity building workshop for assessing inequalities in civil registration in Suva, Fiji from 29 November to 1 December The practical workshop which was organized in collaboration between ESCAP and Fiji Bureau of Statistics focused on assessing the quality of different administrative data sources and inequality analysis of birth registration.
Participants produced and compared inequality analyses using different data sources MICS survey data and administrative data as the denominator for civil registration completeness rates.
The draft inequality assessment report is now being prepared and will be discussed during the closing workshop in early before finalization and publication.
