A Salt Lake City man is behind bars after allegedly going for a beer run as his wife's corpse lay in their home with their two young children. Carlos Mercado, 47, was charged with one count of failure to report a death and two counts of child abandonment.

He admitted to leaving his one and four years old children alone inside the house. The children are now safe, Hercules said during the press conference. He was later charged with assault and domestic violence against Autumn Mercado in the presence of a child for an incident that occurred in , the TV station reports, but that case was dismissed.
