Inspired by french poetry of Pierre-Charles Baudelaire it is full of dark eroticism in an Art Deco style. A sensual, deep and decadent piece telling the story of an actress. Behind the glamorous facade lies a deep sea of passions awaiting to be discovered. Hypnotizing beauty and a bewitching dance are key components of the number.
For a long time I felt the need to reveal more of my other side, deeper and more sensual. I wanted to create a languid and hypnotic number telling about the changing nature of beauty and its tragedy. The imagery of Fleur Du Mal reveals all of these qualities in the most decadent way. The sun wakes up at sunrise and illuminates the sand dunes and at sunset lights up with a bright red fire to go out for good until the cycle repeats againβ¦. It is certainly one of the hottest performances in my repertoire.
It turned out to be so authentic and so frank, that I decided to create a separate solo number with an oriental flavour and motive.
