The Sea Saffron team has compiled this ultimate guide of everything that you need to know in order to have the best day possible on one of these Valencia beaches.
When you think of Valencia beaches, Playa Malvarrosa is the quintessential beach that will come to mind. With its wide beach front, beach volleyball nets, and plethora of locals and tourists alike playing sports and hanging out with friends, this beach is one of the must see Valencia sights.
Here, there are many restaurants set alongside the sand so you can soak in the sun and enjoy your meal at the same time. Check out Casa Carmela for delicious Valencia paella, or grab a picnic for the beach at the Mercadona which is a short walk inland. This beach area, also called Playa Las Arenas, is situated right alongside La Marina and is the closest beach to the city center. From Plaza de Ayuntamiento, this beach is an easy metro ride on line 5 or accessible by the 32 bus. There are many traditional tapas bars along the beach front.
We would recomend enjoying some of the fresh seafood dishes. A frequent host of local bands and live music, this is the perfect environment to grab a glass of wine with friends. This charming Valencian neighborhood is slightly further North and out of the city. This means you are able to escape the heaps of tourists who often populate the Valencia beaches. This local vibe gives this beach a more laid back feeling, perfect for unwinding with a nice beach read.
Or, for a more true Valencian experience, eat paella at Casa Navarro for traditional Valencian paella. Even though this is the furthest beach from the City Center, it is well worth the taxi, bus, or bike ride it takes to arrive. Horchata and farton is one of the most traditional Valencian foods! While this may not be a beach, La Marina is well worth noting for the plethora of places to visit and things to do along it.
