Residents of Liepkalnis street in the capital can no longer tolerate the noise, vibrations and construction dust coming through the windows at night. Not only those who have to get up early in the morning for work, but also families with young children suffer. Residents say that there were no warnings, and the repair work under the windows unexpectedly started at one o'clock in the morning, when everyone was already asleep.
I thought maybe it was morning, because we still woke up from sleep, maybe they start cleaning the sidewalk in the morning. However, it was not the morning, but the middle of the night. Then the police came, everything calmed down for a while, but after that the drilling continued," says the woman from Vilnius.
Finally, the young people decided to look for a place to spend the night until morning. According to the girl, no one informed in advance about such night repairs. Other neighbors of the girl also complain about the repair work and the noise at night. Kristina says that she could certainly put up with temporary inconveniences, but in this case the repairs started as if out of the blue. But we were not informed about the fact that these works will be carried out", says the girl.
And noise is only one side of the coin. Dominic had to drag brick blocks, build a homemade bridge and try to bury the ditch dug by the builders with his shoes in order to leave the house. However, Dominic's journey across the ditch was not smooth.
