Construction workers in the area alerted the police after spotting the trolley. When officers arrived and opened it, they were shocked to find the woman's lifeless body inside. Her brother confirmed her identity to the police. Deepa had gone to Thuraipaakkam after being contacted by a broker. When she did not return home, her brother tried to reach her by phone, but it was turned off.
Using the "Find My Device" option, he tracked her last known location to Thuraipaakkam and reported her missing to the police there.
