Mr Gilder has been teaching for over 20 years across a variety of schools in South and West Yorkshire. After graduating from Sheffield University in Biomedical Science, he fell in love with the countryside of South Yorkshire and moved to our very own Stocksbridge.
As a Science teacher he was recognised for his leadership by becoming a Specialist Leader in Education for his subject, before becoming a Senior Leader in a Barnsley school for raising achievement. With a track record of improving outcomes every year for the schools he has helped to lead, he quickly progressed further and is very excited to now return to Stocksbridge to work with the community he knows well, and the young people and their families. Mrs Storr has been an English teacher for over 20 years and has worked in a several schools in Barnsley and Sheffield over the course of her career.
She has a wealth of experience in teaching and learning and is particularly interested in using the science of learning to ensure that our students are enabled to achieve excellent outcomes. Mrs Storr holds a master's degree in schools based senior leadership and management and is a member of the Chartered College of Teaching.
Ms Martin started her teaching career in September as a maths teacher at Ridgewood School in Doncaster before moving on to Armthorpe Academy in September She is equally as passionate about making sure that all students have the very best opportunities to succeed both in school and in life.
Sport has always been his greatest passion and being able to teach and inspire students through physical activity has really motivated him to progress in my career. Throughout his teaching career he have always been drawn to pastoral care and has been a successful pastoral leader for the last five years. Having this knowledge and experience has allowed him to support students in the best possible way. As Assistant Headteacher at Stocksbridge High School he is excited to work towards creating a culture of exceptional behaviour and positive attitudes where all students feel valued and supported.
