Cloud man was charged with murder Saturday in the shooting death of his girlfriend. The body of Susan Gould Barfield, 30, was found just before dawn Saturday floating in the pool of her home at Michigan Ave.
An autopsy showed Barfield had been shot once in the head. Cloud Police Chief E. Eunice would not say what kind of gun was used to kill her. Terry L. Westfall, 38, is being held without bond in the Osceola County Jail.
Eunice said Westfall was arrested at the home he shared with Barfield at about 6 a. The last murder in St. Cloud occurred in , and despite the dramatic growth around it, the community has retained much of its small-townambience. Barfield and Westfall were with friends late Friday and early Saturday at a Kissimmee night spot. Eunice said Barfield was shot several hours before her body was found. The friend kept Westfall on the telephone until he fell asleep, then telephoned St.
Cloud police about 6 a. Renick said he has known Barfield and her father, Richard Gould, for several years. Renick said neighbors had heard arguing from the house from time to time, but never anything out of the ordinary. More in News.
