Dow Chemical intends to pump billions of euros into economically-depressed eastern Germany, according to press reports published on Friday. The paper reported that Dow would likely apply for subsidies from the European Union as well as the German and state governments. The former East German communist state left a decrepit industrial landscape in its wake, where most factories were outdated.
