Introduce yourself to the fundamentals of drawing, or basic color and composition of acrylic painting. Practice various approaches to charcoal drawings or paint from observation. The MFA offers a variety of drawing, painting, mixed media, printmaking, and many more classes for everyone. Classes may be cancelled up to one week prior to the start date due to low enrollment. MFA studio art classes offer a unique combination of access to a rich and diverse art collection and personal instruction by experienced educators and professional artists.
Class sizes are limited to ensure that all students benefit from these experiences. The MFA provides courses for all experience levels. Two-day weekend workshops meet on Saturdays and Sundays and introduce students to techniques in drawing, painting, mixed media, and many more. Intensive classes are four - five hours long. During February and April Vacation Weeks, as well as Summer, , intensives take place over several days in a row. Online classes run weekly for eight weeks in the fall, winter, spring and summer sessions.
Classes meet via Zoom and run synchronously, similar to traditional in-person classes, where students participate together at a certain time. Online classes are not recorded.
