Perhaps a good place to start is engaging in a pre-apprenticeship course, or work experience program. WA: You can start work if you are 15 or older. If you are under 15, you can only work some jobs, and only outside school hours between 6am and 10pm. QLD: You can start work if you are 15 or older. NT: There is no set age for when you can start work, however if you are under 15, you cannot work between 10pm and 6am.
TAS: There is no age set for when you can start work, but there are some limits on what jobs you can do. Actually sitting though a job interview can be even harder! While these things may seem daunting, being well prepared can be the key to your success. This includes having a resume, being prepared for an interview and following up post your interview.
Consider your own availability, what hours and days can you commit to work and are you looking for full time, part time or casual work? What about commute time? How will you get to work and how far you prepared to travel? And lastly, think about the types of duties you might be performing in your role? Do those duties align with your current skills and what things might you need to learn and develop in?
