Yesterday, the Fishermen battled it out against the Peabody Tanners, but to the dismay of Gloucester fans, it was the Tanners who came out on top with a victory. The pressure was on for the first half of the match as both teams battled for the first goal.
Near the end of the first half , Peabody put themselves on the board with a lead. However, Gloucester maintained a strong defense and prevented any other goals throughout the rest of the half. The score remained a tight lead for Peabody until they scored again midway through the second half, providing some cushion for the Tanners. Gloucester kept up the battle with a few near breakaways by freshman Meadow Anderson and numerous shots on net by junior Taiya Mano.
However, the last 5 minutes of the match proved to be an upset for Fishermen fans when Peabody scored again, securing the victory for the Tanners. Gloucester will be hosting Salem next Thursday at , where Fishermen fans are anticipating a win against the Witches to help propel Gloucester to playoffs.
