MSU Texas leverages several technologies in order to enhance safety and to make reporting matters of concern easy. They include:. A free, downloadable, app for your Android or Apple device, developed specifically for MSU Texas, the dashboard of which is monitored constantly by the Police Communications Office.
Through this app, you can locate contact information for various campus and community resources, submit a crime tip, access useful information in an emergency, and even communicate with MSU Texas Police in real-time! This app contains loads of information and is free to download. Texas law requires that the University automatically enroll all students, faculty, and staff.
Emergency Blue-Light Phones. These devices are strategically-located throughout campus and allow a caller to connect promptly and directly with the MSU Police Communications Office. In addition to being located throughout the main portion of campus, emergency blue-light phones are located at convenient intervals around the Sikes Lake Trail.
Meant to ensure the safety of students and employees who are endangered, or may feel uncomfortable or unsafe during night hours, on-campus safety escorts are available year-round.
