The video shows the state police car with emergency lights activated traveling on the highway and colliding with another vehicle at the intersection near the Potsdam Walmart. According to police, Trooper Matthew Baker was responding to a call for a physical domestic dispute. His lights and siren were on.
As Baker approached the intersection near the Walmart, police said the traffic light at the intersection turned red. He then struck a Chevrolet Equinox, which was pulling out of the Walmart onto Route Police say Baker immediately rendered emergency medical aid to the occupants of the Equinox. Five people were hurt, including Baker. He was treated for minor injuries at Canton-Potsdam Hospital. One of those people, year-old Wyatt Parker of Mannsville, posted a photo of himself and an update on Facebook on Sunday night.
The photo showed him with cuts on his nose and over his eyes. There was a large gash on his forehead that had been stitched up. There was no update on the condition of the other injured person, year-old Megan McAnulty of Norwood. She had been airlifted to the hospital.
