Are there any nice lounges to grab a drink and socialize? Care to elaborate? Yeah, sorry nobody warned you before you came to this sausage fest. Norfolk has men to every women which is abnormally high. Virginia Beach has slightly less, but in most cities it is normal for women outnumber men. Added to that, many military guys don't show up on official census reports because they're only here for a little while and live on base.
Don't know of any lounges here, Hampton Roads is fond of loud clubs and bars. Check out a population pyramid for any HR city. It's pretty bleak for men until their late 30s. I've never been to this place, just saw it mentioned indirectly when reading about something else. It's at Kempsville Road in Chesapeake, looks to be about miles from downtown Norfolk.
Seemed as though it might be geared more to young professionals than mainly a military crowd. Better to simply invest your time in some hobbies and get outside Lots of young ladies there.
