Languages spoken at the residency German, English. Companion allowed Fellows are provided with a guest studio and an apartment, as well as a monthly stipend for living expenses. At the end of the fellowship, participating artists are expected to show output from their residency in the form of an exhibition, performance, film screening, reading, or some other public presentation.
Fellowships are awarded on the condition that the artist lives and works in the host studio during the fellowship period residency requirement. Applications for the fellowship can only be made on the recommendation of German and international museum directors, university professors and curators.
Professional artists of any age and descent are welcome. Any contemporary art form is permitted, from painting to video, photography, and performance art.
