Jazzthing , The album comes as a beautiful surprise and the music is enchanting. It speaks immediately. Intelligent sounds and sleek colors as well as occasional swinging interludes define the nine compositions of the leader. Concerto 08 09 , It a pleasure to listen to this quintet quintet as it explores its its musical boundaries and creates captivating jazz soundscapes landscapes.
Inmusic , This album is a nice discovery. The music speaks immediately, she enchants, she makes good, without being encumbered with avant-gardism or originality at all costs. And us too. An album that makes us vibrate! Jazzmania , Flugelhorn, trombone, piano, double bass, drums. Radio France , The Tunes have a lot of variety. Many of the songs transform in feel and rhythm along the way keeping us surprised and they don't stick to everyone soloing in order but rather mixe things up and include a lot of interplay.
They're always conscious of this horn interplay working out some nice harmonized figures in the line. The horn arrangements are skillful and fun! One is my recent reconnection with Belgian trombonist and phenom Phil Abraham who was invited last year as a jury member for my brass students at the Jazz Department in Luxembourg.
