We offer a variety of trips for novice to experienced paddlers and provide shuttle service for those who own a boat. Winding through a wooded corridor, the Upper Ocmulgee is home to bald eagles, blue herons, and slider turtles. A beautiful four and a half mile stretch of lazy river that winds through the Oconee Forest, with some private homes dotting the banks.
The perfect trip for beginners! This With several small Class I shoals, plus one Class II just below the historic ferry site, this is a perfect all day trip for adventurous paddlers. One of our longest single day options, this 10 mile tour features numerous Class I shoals to add excitement. She canoed the Ocmulgee with her parents as a teenager and kayaked it while in law school at Mercer. She worked on the Ocoee, Chattooga, and Nantahala rivers as a raft guide while in college, and a few years ago she decided to take her love of the outdoors and passion for paddling and open a business.

Kathleen picked us up, helped us get in the water, checked on us when it rained a little, and was a huge help at the end getting us out of the water. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful experience with Ocmulgee Outdoor Expeditions this weekend. Kathleen was very through and helpful getting us into and out of the water. She was also very concerned for our safety, as there was a chance of lightening and rain later in the afternoon. I used OOE for my first kayaking trip.
