Camping is a great way to immerse yourself in the stunning scenery of Grand Teton National Park. There are many options for camping. If you are feeling adventurous and searching for solitude, get a permit to pitch a tent in the backcountry. Looking for a few more comforts? You can tent camp or park and plug in your recreational vehicle at any of the 1, campsites in seven park campgrounds. All park campgrounds are reserved by advanced reservations only.
Campsites are reservable on Recreation. Plan ahead and reserve your night under the stars up to six months in advance. Most sites offer standard amenities including modern comfort stations, potable water, metal fire grates, picnic tables, and metal bear boxes. The maximum length of stay is seven days per person at Jenny Lake, and 14 days at all other campgroundsβno more than 30 days in the park per year.
Camping is not permitted within the park along roadsides, at overlooks, or parking areas. Doubling up in campsites is prohibited and there are no overflow facilities.
Other options include camping in the John D. Rockefeller Memorial Parkway, National Forest , or Yellowstone National Park , or at private campgrounds in the local areaβfor more information, contact the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce, or visiting their website.
Grassy Lake Road in the John D. Rockefeller, Jr. Memorial Parkway has 14 designated campsites in eight areas along the road, free, first-come-first-served sites that are accessible once the road opens in mid-June. These sites are primitive with no water but do include shared toilets, bear boxes, and trash facilities. Camp only in designated sites, proper food storage required to protect wildlife, park only in parking areas, no discharging of firearms, and follow leave- no-trace guidelines.
