Former Rangers star Kyle Hutton has been arrested after a woman died four days after a car crash in Rutherglen. The year-old footballer was held in connection with the death of pedestrian Victoria Cairns in the South Lanarkshire town, outside of Glasgow, on Saturday night.
Victoria, 40, was rushed by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where she fought for life for four days. She succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday, October 7.
Police said enquiries remain ongoing as they issued a fresh appeal for witnesses who may be able to provide details of how the crash occurred. They have asked that their privacy is respected.
