To browse Academia. Introduction: Furcal perforations can occur during access cavity preparation while locating the canal orifices. This must be sealed immediately. After the repair of furcal perforation, endodontic treatment should be performed with various irrigants to clean the root canal system. This procedure causes unavoidable contact of endodontic irrigants with the site of furcal repair. Aim: To evaluate the effect of root canal irrigants on the marginal integrity of furcal perforation repair material using protein leakage assessment.
A total of 90 extracted mandibular molars with intact furcation were used. Access cavities were prepared. Based on the repair materials, samples were randomly divided into two groups. An artificial perforation of diameter 2 mm was made in the furcation area. The specimens were divided accordin Iatrogenic furcal root perforations are serious complications during dental treatment. This study was aimed to compare the sealing ability of new bioceramic root repair material TotalFill with the other perforation repair materials GIC, MTA and Biodentine using a dyeextraction method.
Materials and Methods: Forty extracted, human mandibular molars with non-fused well developed root were collected. Artificial perforations were made from the external surface of the teeth. The samples were analyzed using ultraviolet UV visible spectrophotometer. Aims: The aim of this study was to evaluate the push-out bond strength of Biodentine and MTA Plus root perforation repair materials after irrigation with different endodontic irrigants.
Materials and methods: Forty freshly extracted single-rooted maxillary canines were collected. The teeth were decoronated at the cementoenamel junction using a water-cooled low-speed diamond disc. Midroot dentin was sectioned horizontally into slices by using a water-cooled low-speed diamond disk.
The space of the canal was enlarged with a diamond bur. Then the samples were wrapped in a wet gauze and placed in an incubator. The push-out bond strength values were measured by using a universal testing machine.
