He is a past president of the Virginia Society of Otolaryngology. Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology, Dr. Massey enjoys working with patients to find solutions to their medical needs. David Franz is a lifelong Virginian who did his undergraduate, medical, and residency training at the University of Virginia.
He finished undergraduate work in as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society. Upon completing medical school in , he chose to perform the 5-year Otolaryngology residency training program in Charlottesville. He then moved into practice in Fredericksburg in The program included extensive pediatric training at Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters.
He has authored several articles and remains academically active as Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Virginia. He is an Associate Professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery with the University of Virginia and remains academically active in training senior otolaryngology residents.
