When his mom sets up an appointment for him with a matchmaker, he seizes the opportunity. A business arrangement with a suitable candidate is just the thing to get his parents off his back. Not when becoming his bride will give her the money she needs to save her brother. Sullivan's mother and father, fearful that he would lose himself in work and forego ever getting married and having a family, set up an appointment for him with a very exclusive matchmaker who would assist him with finding a wife.
For his part, Sullivan gave in to the thought that he would have the matchmaker set him up with a woman who would be faithful, not want children, would look good on his arm at social events, and accept her wifely duties behind closed doors.
After giving the matchmaker his set requirements, he prepared himself for the multiple interviews she had set up for him. Kinsley's brother was in need of spinal surgery, yet the insurance had denied him coverage due to it being an experimental treatment that had not been used on the required number of patients. When Kinsley received a call from a matchmaker with an offer, she went to the woman's office with uncertainty about what it was she had in mind.
When the woman presented her with all of Sullivan's requirements, she responded with some of her own and accepted a meet-cute with the man in question. After having interviewed several women who were nowhere near what he wanted, he told the matchmaker he would only do one more, and then he was done with the whole idea.
When Kinsley walked into the room, he knew he had found the one. Two weeks later, they were married and off on their working honeymoon. This was a short but sweet romance novella that had a touch of humor but mostly hit was spicy, a tad angsty, and with low drama.
