This book constitutes the collective response of the authors to all those who strive to give by their words, their writings and their images, a false image of the Belgians in the Congo, whether at the time of the Congo Free State from to or during the time of the Belgian Congo from to Those who are seriously interested in Belgian colonial history note the lack of objectivity, or even the lack of knowledge, of many others who today, under the guise of a " selfqualified work of historical research motivated by a duty to remember " publish articles and books or produce films on this period.
The great majority of these recent productions reflect a bias incomprehensible to the true historian. Indeed, their authors: - Retain in the mass of objective information on the Belgian Congo, easily accessible and open to the public, only those facts that give a negative image, even shameful, of the Belgians who worked for the emancipation of the Congolese.
These authors do not write history, in the noble sense of the term, but trade in pure and simple disinformation; the outrageous and polemical nature of their arguments would be laughable if they were not intended for a public that is believing by nature and unaware of the manipulative methods employed.
