Coco Loko : This bar is aimed at the younger audience, many locals and the vast majority are girls. We didn't feel at all uncomfortable and we were very well received by the staff and locals.
This bar has happy hours on Thursdays with very low prices for Bordeaux and prepare yourself for a full house on those nights. We are witnesses of that. We went on a Thursday, not knowing there was happy hour and we were surprised by the super full house. It is open every night from 6pm to 2am and there is no admission fee.
Le Trou Duck : despite appearing in several guides, it is currently closed. September Buster : despite being dubbed as a cruising bar, it is a normal gay bar, aimed at a more adult and male audience, it was our favorite in town. It has a super friendly staff, they speak good English and manage to make the space have a special energy.
At the back of the bar, next to the toilets, there is a corridor with some rooms where you can cruise and something else if you feel like it! It's very popular with locals and the 2 nights we went it was full too.
In our first one, coincidentally, there was going to be the first quiz night of the season. Despite everything being in french, we never felt left out because we didn't understand what they were saying. There were only 4 foreigners in the bar we were 2 but they always pulled us into the game through jokes. The bar is open from Wednesday to Saturday from 9pm to 2am and on Sundays from 8pm to 12am. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
