By no means is this an earth shattering or groundbreaking book. But it was perfectly pleasant and a nice interracial couple to read about.
A second round purchase for most libraries. I adore the setting of this book--of the entire series, really--as well as many of the characters, their families, and their friends. First must apologize to B. Borison, I was a little upset at the going into this book and the beginning of it because the couple was NOT going to be Beckett and Layla. Persevered through the story and learned more about Evelyn St. James and the chemistry, connection, and tension between her and Beckett quickly realized they were endgame for each other, even when they didn't see it yet.
Can't believe I ever shipped him with someone besides Evelyn. Absolutely adored this book and continue to fall in love with all the characters, townspeople and town of Inglewild.
Beckett and his family dynamic so funny and heartwarming, they way they all love and bicker hard. The realization of Beckett being a bit neuro-spicy and the headphones to help him cope, I felt that! Absolutely adore this book and series and the emotional ride it takes readers on - laughter, annoyance at characters dumb choices, relief when they fix things, and so much more!
Future books in this series will be a must read and will be interested at future works from the author outside this series. She does it again. Borison manages to write the most romantic stories while still remaining so realistic.
