This is a fine hotel about a min walk from the Solothurn train station across the river and up a hill. The old town Altstadt of Solothurn is very nice, reknown in Switzerland for its Baroque style. The hotel itself is first class but I would strongly advise being sure to stay in the main building itself, not the annex. Here's why: the annex is on an alleyway and near a bar which has a loud and boisterous clientele. When we were there, it was as though the zombie drummer from Hell and his singers were having a gig - happily, I think Swiss law closed them up at 10 or so.
Not sure if this is always the case but The restaurant at the hotel is very nicely done, excellent food and wine list, breakfast is sumptuous, service tops. Solothurn is off the beaten touristic track for most but if there, this is a worthy candidate in which to find repose. A very nice hotel, perfect location, next to the cathedral, romantic and historical place as well!

Located in the heart of the old city, next door to the city gate, it is very convenient to visit the ancient city. Not too far from the train station minutes walk. The room layout is very artistic, and it is also an ancient building.
