Thread starter Mojo Stingray Start date Oct 7, Mojo Stingray Junior Member. Anyone have experience good or bad with a Compton on a Starfire II? And can you confirm pole spacing? I think I'm measuring 74mm.
In truth, the TOM is perfectly fine I've just always thought they were ugly. The Compton would certainly be an aesthetic upgrade and, potentially , a more pleasing sound. I don't mind rolling the dice, but thought I'd check in and get thoughts.

That's as close as I've come to a Compton. Tru-Arc Bridge. Last edited: Oct 8, I've got a Compton on my TDP, and it's a marked improvement on the tone, esp. Norrissey Senior Member Gold Supporting. I purchased a '70 Starfire IV about a year ago.
It had the original hagstrom bridge on it. The guitar pickups sounded great through a loud amp but at low volume the bridge and the tailpiece were a bit "ringy" to borrow jp's adjective from above I could hear an extra metallic ringing noise when my pick hit the strings.
