In my last post I mentioned some alternative activities that you can do in France, places that are not so well know for the common people. So this time I wanted to talk about some others different option that differs from the typical itineraries that you will find in every site. The Sewers of Paris Museum is a fascinating, and unusual museum which explores the famous sewer system of Paris. A castle, theater, race track, lakes, tropical gardens, a strong, newly remodeled zoo , farm and even a Buddhist temple, are part of the hidden secrets of the greatest Parisian Bois de Vincennes that was once for exclusive use of royalty.
In the Bois de Vincennes you can rent a boat and walk around the lake. The perfect place for relax and enjoy a beautiful weather. Here I leave a map so you can see the places you can visit. With this I would like to emphasize that Paris is much more than just icons and that there exists hundred of different places that you can visit. So I encourage you to investigate and try seeing new things.
Like we had mention in other post, France, especially Paris is the most visited place in the entire world. Therefore is pretty obvious that this city would be full of icons, and what I mean with icons, is a specific place, architecture or food, that defines that country.
More like stereotypes. Because if you think about it. What is the first thing that comes to your mind when we talk about this city? But what I want to talk about is how France is a country that has much more than just icons and stereotypes. And if you like this kind of things, underneath the glowing lights and dashing movements in the streets of Paris, there lies a creepy labyrinth of carefully arranged skulls and bones.
The catacombs hold the remains of almost six million Parisians from the late 18th century. In addition, to the unsettling number of human bones, you will also find graffiti dating all the way back to French Revolution-and enigmatic inscriptions lining the walls. It is unadvisable to enter the Catacombs illegally because of the risk of getting lost. So what do you think of these hidden places?
