If you happen to be flying out of the Northwest, there's a good chance you may be flying Alaska Airlines. In fact, if you're flying out of Yakima first, your only option is Alaska Airlines. That suits me fine as I do like flying Alaska.
Gone are the days when you get an in-flight meal for the most part. You're welcome to pack a sandwich or grab something from the terminal to stash with you for your flight but, on flights with a few miles, they have the option for a few snacks while flying.
Sure, you get a complimentary cookie or pretzels along with your coffee, tea, alcohol for purchase, and assorted sodas and juices. On top of that, they offer these pre-packaged snack packs that are sometimes just a little extra something you can take advantage of especially if you refuse to pay so much to eat at the airport.
Alaska Airlines has a fruit and cheese plate I do like but you have to preorder that. Though I love it, if I was planning on preordering I would have just grabbed the fruit and cheese option at the Hudson store inside the airport and brought it with me.
This Northwest Deli pack includes chips, almonds, salami of some kind, a smoked cheese spread, these multigrain crackers I use as a vessel for the cheese, and an Almond Roca. Though it says salami stick the last time I got this it was slices. Either way, it worked for me as I wasn't hungry when I got on the flight but soon as my stomach told me otherwise and the pilot said it was a 4 hour flight, I figured I had to do something.
