This part brings together artworks made between and by artists from the Global South, primarily ones from Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. Bo Bardi is also listed as a participant. We are all too familiar with the histories of modernism in Euro-America, yet the modernisms in the Global South remain largely unknown. Knowledge about these is limited to specialists in each individual country or region at best.
Yet, connecting and exhibiting these worlds together will be somehow revealing. It is in these this sense that these histories assume a truly contemporary relevance, we urgently need to learn more about and from them. The show, Pedrosa said, is personal.
