Look forward to having them in Columbus! Good for the space, but surprised they picked a location so close to Sam's. From what I understand our Sam's does very well and isn't in danger of closure.
Do they sell groceries like Sams and Costco? I've never actually been in a BJ's If so that would be strange have a 2 story grocery store. I was thinking Belk would wind up moving in as it seemed like a perfect location for something like Belk. Yes that's what it is. I would guess that the second story is removed and the building has the giant open ceilings that is typical with these kinds of stores.
But, a two story grocery store isn't unheard of. BJ's and Sam's Club being near each other won't be a bad thing. Like having car dealers next to each other. BJ's is very similar to Costco, and will do well here. When Costco sees how well, they'll kick themselves for now locating here first. Yes, BJ's sells lots of groceries in bulk, and is very similar to Costco.
In fact, some folks may chose to be members of both! Welcome to Columbus, BJ's! Good move! And thanks for repurposing an existing building! Great use of that building. Still want Belk and Costco.
