They would usually give the time and the year. He might announce what some of the highlights of the play were about. After that he would say, Now the orchestra is going to play part of one of the songs that will be sung. That prepared the audience for the time when the curtains were drawn back.
I have a book here, that I hardly ever noticed, but it describes the last one hundred years, what has happened in the realm of world politics. Furthermore it coordinates every bit of it with the Bible. The main setting of it is all about this country in the center of our World News today.
