Love in its purest form stands for connection, empathy and mutual respect. It is often the dynamics of power that complicate relationships and lead to manipulation and control. Yet it remains the shared experiences that bring us closer and the collective spirit that fuels our creativity.
With four evenings and seven productions, we present different perspectives on love. The festival is also an expression of the artistic diversity and network of our member company. In this open format, you will get to know the choreographers and artists of Ballett Basel through lecture performances, art talks and moving presentations.
Gain a more comprehensive understanding of their movement practice through insights into the artists' way of thinking and working. In addition to the classical piece introductions, Ballett Basel offers moving introductions. The audience gets to know choreographic elements through their own physical experience. Movement methods are tried out for themselves. This creates direct access to the piece or to the methodology and dance style.
