Sharing dating stories and troubles over a glass of wine, two local women came up with an idea: In The Wild Dating, a new venture to help people find love. Heather Gardiner and Caryn Leith, friends for a year since meeting at a group for newly divorced women, took that wine-sharing, a-ha moment and are hoping to return dating to its more traditional ways: mixing and mingling with adults ages 35 to Leith and Gardiner, who are both single and have children, had tried many dating apps.
They know firsthand the agony online dating brings. This is intended for higher-end singles, as a classy event. I wish there was a way to get this message out. A limited number of early-bird tickets have already sold out. Admission also includes access to an In The Wild dating Facebook community for pre- and post-event interaction. Both women are local professionals; Gardiner is a marketing consultant in the travel industry, while Leith is a wedding planner.
Caryn and I created in the wild dating to give men and women like us opportunities to meet and get to know one another in real life. Tickets are being sold equally to men and women so guests can meet an equal number of the opposite sex.
They added that while the majority of their upcoming events attract heterosexual singles, they are an inclusive community and look to host LGBTQ-friendly events going forward.
