Reggio Calabria: It's the largest city in the Calabria region, situated on the "toe" of Italy's boot. The city sits on the Strait of Messina, which separates mainland Italy from Sicily. It's known for its beautiful seafront promenade, which the Italian poet Gabriele D'Annunzio called "the most beautiful kilometer in Italy.
It's also known for being one of the most affordable parts of the country to visit. Unlike Venice, Rome or the Amalfi Coast, it has yet to gather the tourist masses and according to travel writer Mark Jones it's a place where locals 'love tourists'. Beyond the new routes, Ryanair will increase frequencies on 30 existing London routes, including popular destinations such as Gdansk, Ibiza, Malaga, Milan, Rome, Turin, and Valencia. The expansion will be supported by the addition of a new Boeing aircraft to the London Stansted base, bringing Ryanair's total London-based fleet to 56 aircraft and creating 30 new jobs for pilots, cabin crew, and engineers.
