We spent 4 days winding down at this tropical hotel and were blown away by the hotel grounds, the service we received, the quality of the food, and of course, its excellent location right on Batu Ferringhi Beach. The area is peaceful and relaxing during the day, but it comes alive on an evening. As the Shangri-La Rasa Sayang hotel is on the far end of Batu Ferringhi Beach, it feels secluded and quiet compared to other hotels in the area.
We were offered a welcome drink on arrival, along with a refreshing towel, which was very much needed after a long travel day. The helpful staff on reception provided us with information about the hotel, the amenities, operating hours of the bars and restaurants and information on how to get around the resort.
Note that there are two separate wings at the hotel: the Garden Wing and the Rasa Wing. The rooms in the Garden Wing are your standard rooms, whereas the rooms in the Rasa Wing are larger and more luxurious.
We just had to give the grounds at the Rasa Sayang its own section! The entire garden area of the hotel is neatly manicured palm trees, walking paths, flowers, bushes and tropical plants. From the pool walking path to the beachside trail with a giant chess board, the grounds of the Shangri-La Rasa Sayang give it plenty of character.
As mentioned above, there are two areas of the hotel the Garden Wing and the Rasa Wing , each offering a selection of rooms. You can splash out at the Shangri-La and opt for one of their luxurious suite rooms for that special occasion or go for the standard room option. We stayed in their Rasa Junior Suite and the room was incredibly spacious, clean and we absolutely loved the living room area. We also checked out a standard room during our visit and it was just as nice; it just had less space.
