The main essential element are healing mineral waters from the bowels of MOther Earth! Mostly warm to hot and some cool to cold. You can drink it for the therapeutic effects on the internal organs. Swim in it for the exercise or just sit in the 'waters' for the 2 way exchange of elements minerals , that also promote healing.
At most European spas, you do all three along with various treatments for various illnesses. And the programs are taken seriously with medical supervision. There are a wider variety of massage treatments above and beyond what the average spa going American recognizes. Most of the spas listed in the previous post base their reputations on 'pampering'.
That 'pampering' consists of little more then a drink or two of bottled waters, maybe a smoothie, and in extreme cases a tea!! LOL Minimal therapeutic effects! Still bettter then junk food and diet colas!!!! Getting a makeover or some 'color' in the hair or nails is a side note in Euurope. Facials and Massages are also offered. I have taken advantage of these on many a weekend. Or for the afternoon, when I lived in the Palm Springs. Thirty two years ago, I developed a severe case of Prostate infection after a wild weekend in Las Vegas.
