The event will celebrate EMBL from the moment of its inception, in when the proposal to bring a world-class life sciences laboratory to Europe was ratified, through to the exciting and vibrant organisation that EMBL represents today.
The symposium will explore the foundational scientific research,service, technology and innovation that EMBL has fostered over the past 50 years. The programme will encompass both a historic perspective and a forward look to the cutting edge science that EMBL is bringing to the life sciences of the future. The first day will be focused on research from cells to tissues, spanning genome biology, developmental biology, as well as protein structures and complexes.
