The article is drawn out by the report that the Alliance, one of the old-fashioned sailing cutters, now on the way here from Baltimore, is to take the place of the Wyanda, which is to be ordered to San Diego or elsewhere. On inquiry we learn that the Alliance probably will not relieve the Wyanda, as stated, but will be stationed at some point down the coast.
