This is an excellent time to join our team and truly make an impact in our local community!!! Performs test runs on all assigned generators and transfer switches as required. Performs preventive maintenance and testing on all assigned generators to include tune-ups, power-downs, oil sampling, and oil changes.
Maintains a database on all assigned generators reflecting the history of each unit, including but not limited to, preventive maintenance, exercise run times and dates, and loading tests. Works with Utility Foreman ensuring repair parts and supplies are in stock for use as needed. Performs all work in a workman-like manner using the safest practices possible. Participates in a special task force during periods of emergencies including floods, storms, hurricanes, power outages, and extremely cold weather.
Ensures all work areas are clean and organized. Fills out required work orders; and Performs such other related duties as may be assigned. Or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Ability to obtain a CDL A license within 2 years. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of: emergency electrical generators; basic first aid procedures; safe operating procedures of equipment used; and safe operating procedures around electricity.
