The month of October has quickly come to its end, and Halloween is officially upon us. Navigating this holiday as someone who is probably too old to go out trick-or-treating can sometimes be a difficult task, but just because it might be seen as socially unacceptable to go out asking for candy as an adult, does not mean you cannot still find ways to enjoy this exciting and spooky fall holiday.
If you are looking for some last-minute ideas for how to spend your Halloween, there are plenty to choose from. Whether you are hoping to go out to do something thrilling with friends or if you are just wanting to have a cozy night in but still want to do something festive, there are plenty of opportunities on and off campus to get into the Halloween spirit.
The University of North Dakota has a variety of festivities going on around Halloween. Along with this, many student organizations are hosting their own Halloween related events on that same night. If you want to get off campus to celebrate Halloween, there are plenty of opportunities for that as well. This performance is intended for mature audiences, but they do also have a showing earlier in the day that is open to anyone.
They encourage everyone to show up in their best costumes, and they even give out a prize to the best dressed. Along with this, they go all out with spooky decorations and incredible live music. If a night in sounds more your style, there are plenty of different things you can do on your own or with friends that still give you that spooky feeling for Halloween. You can cook a themed meal or dessert, watch your favorite Halloween movies or TV specials, and of course, eat candy.
Another exciting opportunity to take advantage of is the ability to shop at Spirit Halloween before they close just two days after Halloween. This is only the second year that Grand Forks has had a Spirit Halloween so if you have not had a chance to check it out yet, this would be a great time to do so. Whether you want to take advantage of campus events, performances and events throughout the community or do your own thing for Halloween this year, there are so many ways to get involved.
