LaRae Burbank passed away in the early morning of January 17, , in her Midvale home where she resided for 72 years. She was raised on a small farm in Crescent, Utah where she did many chores such as hoeing and topping sugar beets and planting and weeding tomatoes.
When she was young, she loved playing with paper dolls. She attended Jordan High School and was involved in 4-H. She married Wayne Burbank on September 20, They were later sealed in the Jordan River Temple on February 22, They were blessed with four daughters and one son. After her children got older, she went to work at the Sugar Factory. Later she was employed at Midvale City Hall as a secretary for 25 years.
She was also an election judge for many years. She enjoyed puzzling, diamond art, coloring pictures on her I-pad, reading, sewing, crocheting, pine nut hunting, camping, and waving her feet in streams. She loved working in her flower gardens with her daughters and had many compliments on her beautiful flowers from her neighbors. She could be found most summer days, outside in her backyard, sitting on her patio, doing one of her many hobbies.
She was well known for her delicious cinnamon rolls, homemade Oreo cookies, cream puffs, Thanksgiving pies and English toffee. She made a Levi quilt for each of her grandchildren when they got married and also a baby blanket with crocheted edges when a baby was added to the family. Each member of her family received a personalized birthday card each year with a smiley face sticker. She got very good at timing the delivery of each card.
She was looking forward to her first great-great grandson soon to be born. She loved visits from her family members. She was supportive in many of their sports, performances, and other school activities, taking many pictures to document each event. She holds a special place in many hearts.
