I saw that a multitude of choices are offered to the pregnant women: coaches, doctors, books, Pregnancy is a highly ancestral ritual that shows how strong and dominant is the nature in our body. Babies are starting their life with the most intimate and unique bond that they will ever encounter in their life. Actually these nine months are the expression of the law of evolution: influencing the mankind population on this Earth and somehow electing the woman as an Idol.
So I have chosen the topic of this dissertation pushed by the need to understand how to integrate, transform and give back the ancestral life energy, which I consider the source of that inner voice and the Placenta, the first root between us and the outer world. I will write and investigate briefly on the following topics: - a short overview on the Placenta and on the Parents during pregnancy chapter 1 , - how can a Shiatsu therapist be helpful during and after the pregnancy ch.
This writing does not want to be exhaustive or fully detailed; it is just a brief consideration on the benefits that Shiatsu can provide during and after pregnancy. Objectives: To evaluate the effects of shiatsu techniques, as taught by hospital midwives, on the progress of post-term labours and deliveries, to inform practice.
Design and setting: A pilot audit on the use of shiatsu for post-term pregnancy at St. Michael's Hospital, Bristol, from March to July Interventions: Sixty-six women, who attended a consultant clinic hospital appointment at 40 weeks gestation, were taught the massage techniques by one midwife, who had completed the shiatsu course. Seventy-six comparison women were those who attended similar clinics when the midwife was not on duty.
Outcomes: The audit extracted outcome information from the Stork hospital database including induction, type of delivery, length of labour and analgesia used.
