I have been looking at this picture for nearly 80 years, never really knowing who he really was. He answered the call of the country during the war, becoming one of the thousands who never returned. He was a young man who left behind , like many others, his girlfriend and his family to fight for King and Country. He was one of those who helped change the course of history, and gave his all.
My mother never talked about him. He died on 20 September , aged He was in the Lincolnshire Regiment and it states he was the son of Mr. Paulger of 2, Botany, Mansfield, Notts.
